Sometimes, it’s easy to regret something. Like when I found my 1985 edition Game Boy this weekend, played the classics for 10 hours straight, and then proceeded to wear an arm brace today to prevent the resulting wrist sprain from getting worse. I may be the only person to be injured by Pokemon!

But game consles aside, I do believe that whether big (like deciding where to move to) or small (steel-cut oats or oatmeal for breakfast?), you should stand by every decision. Aim to live with NO REGRETS.

What is living with NO REGRETS? It’s acknowledging, then dismissing those feelings that make you second guess your actions. It’s thinking over future good and bad options so that everytime you make a decision, you are confident in it. It’s biting your tongue or pausing for just one second before gossiping or grabbing a third donut, and giving yourself a moment to activate your self-restraint.

These decisions may be small or insignificant, but taken together, they guarantee that you are on your healthiest, destined life path. That’s huge! By living with NO REGRETS, you ensure your life is lived as it should be, as close to your ideal as possible.

And why should you have regrets? To me, regretting something is rejecting who you are. Because every little action, decision and word uttered created the life you have now. I am and you should be proud of the life you’ve created. Don’t have your life 100% in order? No problem. Just use a little hesitation and insight before your decisions and you will make your way back to your purpose.

I’m writing this because I just accepted a new position at a highly desirable company. My decision will change my future in ways I can’t ever predict. So I am taking a moment’s hesitation to appreciate life the way it is now, let go,and look forward to whatever is in store. NO REGRETS
